FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
"An Act reestablishing the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management 1
Areas in Alaska; and providing for an effective date." 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 3
* Section 1. AS 44.66.010(a) is amended by adding a new paragraph to read: 4
(15) Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management Areas in 5
Alaska (AS 41.37.160) - June 30, 2031. 6
* Sec. 2. AS 44.66.010(a)(10) is repealed. 7
* Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 8
read: 9
TRANSITION. Notwithstanding AS 41.37.190(a), the terms of the initial members of 10
the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Management Areas in Alaska appointed by the 11
governor under AS 41.37.170(c) are as follows: (1) two members shall be appointed for a 12
four-year term; (2) two members shall be appointed for a three-year term; (3) one member 13
shall be appointed for a two-year term; and (4) one member shall be appointed for a one-year 14 33-LS0496\A

term. The governor shall specify the term of office of each member appointed subject to this 1
section. 2
* Sec. 4. This Act takes effect July 1, 2023. 3
