Committee: Agriculture and Forestry Sponsor: Allen Analyst: John Friedenreich Date: 02/09/2022 FISCAL NOTE House Bill 262 as amended and reported by the Committee on Agriculture and Forestry would provide that the current annual license tax and registration fees for trucks and truck-tractors owned and used by any person for transporting forest products are also applicable to trucks and truck-tractors owned and used by any person for activities reasonably related to the harvesting and processing of forest products. This bill could reduce receipts to the Public Road and Bridge Fund, the several counties, and the several municipalities by an undetermined amount dependent on the number of additional forestry truck license plates issued for such trucks and truck-tractors. For each additional forestry license plate issued using the reduced rates under the provisions of this bill, the annual license tax and registration fee would be decreased by a minimum of $260 to a maximum of $455 per license plate, dependent upon the weight of the truck or truck tractor.
