2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3	To propose an amendment to the Constitution of
4 Alabama of 1901, to authorize the Code Commissioner,
5 contingent upon the ratification of an official Constitution
6 of Alabama of 2022, to renumber and place ratified
7 constitutional amendments, based on a logical sequence and the
8 particular subject or topic of the amendment, and to provide
9 for the transfer of existing annotations to any section of the
10 Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to the section as it is
11 numbered or renumbered in the Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
13	Section 1. The following amendment to the
14 Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended, is proposed and
15 shall become valid as a part thereof when approved by a
16 majority of the qualified electors voting thereon and in
17 accordance with Sections 284, 285, and 287 of the Constitution
18 of Alabama of 1901, as amended:
19	PROPOSED AMENDMENT
20	Contingent upon the ratification of the Constitution
21 of Alabama of 2022:
22	(a) The Code Commissioner shall number and place any
23 constitutional amendment ratified on the date of ratification
24 of this amendment as appropriate in the Constitution of

1 Alabama of 2022, based upon a logical sequence and the
2 particular subject or topic of the amendment.
3	(b)(1) Any judicial decision interpreting a
4 provision of the Alabama Constitution of 1901, shall remain
5 valid as to the appropriate provision in the Constitution of
6 Alabama of 2022, that has not been substantively changed by
7 the Constitution of Alabama of 2022. Any case annotation to
8 any section of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, compiled
9 and published prior to the ratification of this amendment
10 shall apply to the section as it is numbered or renumbered in
11 the Constitution of Alabama of 2022, as authorized by
12 Amendment 951.
13	(2) The Code Commissioner shall instruct the
14 publisher of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of
15 Alabama of 1901, to transfer, organize, and otherwise arrange
16 annotations to the same or renumbered sections of the
17 Constitution of Alabama of 2022, except to the extent
18 substantively changed.
19	Section 2. An election upon the proposed amendment
20 shall be held in accordance with Sections 284 and 285 of the
21 Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Sections 284
22 and 285 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of
23 Alabama of 1901, as amended, and the election laws of this
24 state.

1	Section 3. The appropriate election official shall
2 assign a ballot number for the proposed constitutional
3 amendment on the election ballot and shall set forth the
4 following description of the substance or subject matter of
5 the proposed constitutional amendment:
6	"Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of
7 Alabama of 1901, to authorize the Code Commissioner,
8 contingent upon the ratification of an official Constitution
9 of Alabama of 2022, to renumber and place constitutional
10 amendments ratified before or on the same day as the
11 Constitution of Alabama of 2022, based on a logical sequence
12 and the particular subject or topic of the amendment, and to
13 provide for the transfer of existing annotations to any
14 section of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to the section
15 as it is numbered or renumbered in the Constitution of Alabama
16 of 2022.
17	"Proposed by Act ________."
18	This description shall be followed by the following
19 language:
