1 HR278 2 219951-1 3 By Representatives Standridge and Shedd 4 RFD: 5 First Read: 06-APR-22 Page 0 1 219951-1:n:04/06/2022:JMH/jmh LSA 2022-1228 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 COMMENDING THE SUSAN MOORE HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY 9 GIRL'S BASKETBALL TEAM ON A WINNING SEASON. 10 11 WHEREAS, highest congratulations are proudly herein 12 presented to the Susan Moore High School Varsity Girl's 13 Basketball Team on capturing runner-up honors in the 2022 14 Class 3A State Girl's Basketball Tournament; and 15 WHEREAS, through teamwork, diligence, and a 16 commitment to excellence, the team became the first in school 17 history to make it to the state championship game and only the 18 second in school history to earn a spot in the final four; 19 their achievements include being named Northwest Regional 20 Champions in back to back years, Sweet 16 winners for three 21 consecutive years, Sub Region winners for four consecutive 22 years, 3A Area Champions for four consecutive years, and 23 Blount County Champions for three consecutive years; and 24 WHEREAS, the talented members of the Susan Moore 25 High School Varsity Girl's Basketball Team are Seniors Cyndal 26 Holland, Kinsley Quick, Marissa Painter, First Team All State 27 honoree Cali Smallwood, and Player of the Year finalist Page 1 1 Kaitlyn Hill; Juniors Third Team All-State honoree Lacey 2 Floyd, Marisa Bryan, Kadence Standridge, and Karleigh Allison; 3 Sophomores Kirsten Ingram, Ava Brewer, and Maycee Holland; 4 Freshman Cesa Hernandez; and Eighth Grader Lani Smallwood; and 5 WHEREAS, expert guidence and leadership were 6 provided by head coach Natasha Smallwood, who was also named 7 Class 3A Coach of the Year, and assistant coaches Bobby Waddle 8 and Justin Waddle; and 9 WHEREAS, the members of the Susan Moore High School 10 Girl's Basketball Team are inspirations to many in their 11 community and beyond; now therefore 12 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF 13 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the Susan Moore High School 14 Girl's Basketball Team is highly honored and commended on its 15 successful season and for capturing the runner-up title in the 16 2022 Class 3A State Girl's Basketball Championship; and it is 17 directed that a copy of this resolution be provided to the 18 school with heartiest congratulations and best wishes for all 19 future endeavors.
