A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to the City of Northport in Tuscaloosa County;
to provide for a warrant recall fee to allow a municipal judge
or municipal magistrate for the City of Northport to recall,
under certain conditions, a failure to appear warrant.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. (a) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary,
a municipal judge or a municipal magistrate of the City of
Northport in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, may assess a
defendant with a warrant recall fee that shall be paid in
order for a municipal judge or municipal magistrate to recall
a failure to appear warrant or failure to comply warrant
arising from any municipal ordinance violation or other
offense brought against the defendant in the municipal court
of the City of Northport. 
(b) The warrant recall fee shall not exceed one hundred
dollars ($100) and is to be paid by the defendant at the time
the warrant is recalled.
(c) This section shall not be construed or interpreted
to require the City of Northport to recall a warrant that has
been issued. All orders to recall a warrant shall be issued

solely in the discretion of the municipal judge or municipal
magistrate. 
(d) All fees received by the City of Northport
Municipal Court for a warrant recall fee shall be deposited
into the City of Northport Corrections Fund and allocated in
conformity with Section 11-47-7.1(a). 
Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first
day of the third month following its passage and approval by
the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
