House Bill 281 as introduced could increase or decrease funds otherwise received by cities or
counties by an undetermined amount dependent on the difference in: (1) the actual costs for
incarceration in a county or city jail charged to defendants convicted of a misdemeanor, as
provided by this bill; and (2) up to $20 per day, as provided by current law.
