House Bill 302 as reported by the Committee on Boards, Agencies and Commissions could
increase receipts to the Alabama Board of Electrical Contractors Fund in the State Treasury by
an undetermined amount dependent upon any additional civil penalties issued by the board of up
to $5,000 as provided by this bill.
Further, this bill would codify the current practice of the Board of examination and issuance of
provisional licenses. The provisional license fee currently set by board rule is $75, and
according to the board, there are currently 528 active and 130 inactive provisional licensees.
According to the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts, the Board collected $40,200 in
provisional license fees in Fiscal Year 2020.
