Enrolled, An Act,
To alter, rearrange, and extend the boundary lines and
corporate limits of the Town of Grant in Marshall County.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. The boundary lines and corporate limits of
the Town of Grant in Marshall County are altered, rearranged,
and extended to include within the corporate limits of the
municipality, in addition to the lands now included, all of
the following territory:
TRACT 1
Commencing at the Southwest corner of the Northwest
fourth of the Southwest fourth of Section 29, Township 5
South, Range 4 East in Marshall County, Alabama; thence along
the West line of said section 29, North 0° 44' 50" East
2650.18 feet to the Northwest corner of the Southwest fourth
of the Northwest fourth of said Section 29; thence along the
North line of the South half of the Northwest fourth of said
Section 29, South 88° 49' 55" East 2,665.16 feet to the
Northeast corner of said South half; thence South 0° 46' 10"
West 1333.04 feet to the Southeast corner of said South half;
thence South 46° 46' 10" West 420 feet to the Southwest corner
of the Crabtree property; thence along the South line of said
Crabtree property South 88° 39' 39" East 1332.36 feet to a
point on the East line of the West half of the Southeast
fourth of said Section 29; thence South 0° 46' 51" West
2,674.03 feet to a point on the North margin of the right of
way entrance road to Cathedral Caverns; thence along the North
margin of said Road North 79° 0' 24" West 405.05 feet; thence

to the Southeast corner of the lot formerly owned by Jackie
Hodges; thence along the said East line of said Hodges lot
North 3° 29' 10" East 315 feet; thence along the North margin
of said Hodges lot North 89° 30' 50" West 210 feet; thence
along the West margin of said Hodges lot South 3° 29' 10" West
315 feet to the North margin of said Cathedral  Caverns Road;
thence along said North margin North 88° 39' 17" West 496.65
feet to a point on the East margin of the county Road; thence
continue North 88° 39' 17" West approximately 60 feet to the
West margin of said County Road to a point on the East margin
of Gurley Lot No. 1 as shown by the plat recorded in Plat book
6 page 143 in the Probate Office of Marshall County, Alabama;
thence along the East margin of said Gurley Lot No. 1 and the
West margin of said County Road in a Northeasterly direction
approximately 110 feet to the Northeast corner of said lot;
thence along the North line of said lot North 83° 17' 50" West
96.13 feet to the Northwest corner of said lot; thence along
the West line of said lot South 14° 3' 54" West 217.02 feet to
the Southwest corner thereof; thence North 88° 32' 29" West
170.45 feet to a point in the old dirt road; thence along said
road North 18° 31' 10" East 180.89 feet; thence North 19° 07'
49" East 273.94 feet; thence North 61° 15' 15" East 80.33
feet; thence North 50° 26' 29" East 237.13 feet to a point
where said old dirt road intersects with the West margin of
the 60 ft County Road; thence along said County Road North 21°
31' 57 11 East 349.85 feet to a point in the South I line of
the North half of the Southwest fourth of Section 29; thence

along said South line North 88° 29' 23" West approximately
2,480 feet to the point of beginning, all lying and being in
the County of Marshall, State of Alabama.
Also, the right to the use of the water from the spring
situated on the said: Gurley Lot No. 1 referred to hereinabove
and the easement area adjacent to said spring as the same is
shown on the above mentioned plat recorded in Plat Book 6 at
page 143 in the Probate Office of Marshall: County, Alabama,
together with the necessary right of ingress and egress to
enable the Grantee, successors and assigns, to use said.
spring and also the right to lay and maintain pipes or other
facilities necessary for such use over and upon that part of
said Gurley Lot No. 1 specifically designated as spring
easement on said plat.
TRACT 2
The East half of the Southeast Fourth of the Northeast
Fourth of Section 29, Township 5 South, Range 4 East,
containing 20 acres, more or less. Also, the East half of the
Southeast Fourth of Section 29, Township 5 South, Range 4
East, containing 80 acres, more or less, and also a. right of
way 10 feet on each side of a road leading from said property
above described through the property of Ovid Farr as the same
is now located for right of ingress and egress.
Also, all caves and caverns and the right of
subterranean entry to and egress therefrom by excavation or
tunneling as may be necessary, lying beneath the following
lands lying in Marshall County, Alabama, to-wit:
Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter and the West

the "Point of Beginning" of the parcel herein described;
thence South 88° 19' 07" East along the South line of said
Section 29 a distance of 665.95 feet to the Southwest corner
of the East 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Southwest 1/4 of said
Section, 29; thence North 0° 45' 10" East along the West line
of said East 1/2 of Southwest 1/4 of Southwest 1/4 a distance
of 1328.95 feet to the Northwest corner of the East 1/2 of
Southwest 1/4 of Southwest 1/4; thence South 88° 29' 23" East
along the forty line a distance of 1820.98 feet to the West
Right-of-Way of a County Road; thence Southwesterly along said

more or less, (chord ,bears South 21° 31' 57" West a distance

a one (1) acre lot bounded on the North by the North line of

bounded on the East by a County Road. Thus describing a tract
of land lying and being situated in Sections 29 and 32,
Township 5 South, Range 4 East, Marshall County, Alabama and
containing 141.85 acres, more or less.
TRACT 4
Commencing at the Southeast corner of Section 29,
Township 5 South, Range 4 East; thence North 76° 34' 02" West,
a distance of 2356.38 feet to an iron pipe, said iron pipe
being the "Point of Beginning" of the parcel herein described;
thence North 89° 30' 50" West, a distance of 210.00 feet;
thence North 3° 29' 10" East, a distance of 315.00 feet;
thence South 89° 30' 50" East, a distance of 210.00 feet;
thence South 3° 29' 10" West, a distance of 315.00 feet back
to the "Point of Beginning". Thus describing a tract of land
lying and being situated in the Southwest 1/4 of the Southeast
1/4 of Section 29, Township 5 South, Range 4 East, Marshall
County, Alabama, and containing 1.52 acres, more or less.
Section 2. In accordance with Section 11-42-6(b) of the

Code of Alabama 1975, a map showing the proposed territory to
be altered, rearranged, and extended from the Town of Grant is
on file and open to public inspection in the Office of the
Judge of Probate in Marshall County, Alabama.
Section 3. This act shall become effective on the first
day of the third month following its passage and approval by
the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
