House Bill 458 as passed the House of Representatives would increase the obligations of the
Lawrence County Commission by: (1) an estimated $15,500 annually by increasing the
maximum number of working days of the Lawrence County Board of Registrars from 160 days,
under current law, to 200 days; and (2) and additional, undetermined amount dependent on the
increase in mileage, travel, and other expenses reimbursed to board members under current law
due to the additional working days provided by this bill. This bill would prohibit reimbursement
of these expenses by the state.
