SYNOPSIS:
This bill would prohibit state or county inmates
from participating in any program that trains dogs to
recognize scents or track humans.
A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to criminal correctional and detention
facilities; to add Section 14-5-12 to the Code of Alabama
1975, to prohibit state or county inmates from participating
in any program that trains dogs to recognize scents or track
humans.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 14-5-12 is added to the Code of
Alabama 1975, to read as follows:
ยง14-5-12
An inmate may not participate in any program that
trains dogs to recognize scents or track humans.
Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first
day of the third month following its passage and approval by
the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
