Senate Bill 56 as reported by the Committee on Education Policy could increase the obligations
of local boards of education that install, operate, and maintain audio and video recording
equipment in classrooms in which at least half of the students in regular attendance are provided
special education services. This increased obligation could be offset in whole or in part by any
funding made available from donations to the local boards of education for the purpose of
placing and operating video camera pursuant to this bill.
