Senate Bill 56 as reported by the Committee on Education Policy could increase the obligations
of local boards of education that elect to install, operate, and maintain audio and video recording
equipment in certain special education classrooms. This increased obligation could be offset, in
whole or in part, by any funding from donations to the local boards of education for the purpose
of placing and operating video cameras pursuant to this bill.
