Relating to district attorneys; to amend Section 12-17-220, Code of Alabama 1975; to remove limitations on a district attorney's authorization to hire personnel based on the residency of any current or potential personnel.
Relating to Jefferson County; to amend Section 45-37-91.04 of the Code of Alabama 1975, providing for the board of directors of the Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitor's Bureau, to provide for the appointment of an additional member of the board of directors.
This bill would propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 2022, relating to Tuscaloosa County, to authorize a referendum on the merger of the county government and the municipal governments of the City of Tuscaloosa and the City of Northport into an urban-county form of government.
Relating to public safety telecommunicators; to amend Section 11-98-16, Code of Alabama, 1975, to further provide for the certification requirements for public safety telecommunicators.
Relating to Cullman County, to amend Section 45-22-225 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to change the composition of the Cullman County Tourism Bureau; and to amend Sections 45-22-242 and 45-22-242.11 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to provide for the rate of taxation and for the use of the proceeds of the tax.
Relating to the Alabama Women's Tribute Statue Commission; to add Section 41-9-338.4, Code of Alabama 1975, to exempt the commission from the public works competitive bid laws.
Relating to state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes; to exempt food pantries in Cullman County from all state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes for certain purchases.
Relating to current use value of class III property current use value; to amend Section 40-7-25.3, Code of Alabama 1975, to revise the look back period for assessing ad valorem taxes on current use property.
Relating to the practice of Massage Therapy; to add Chapter 43A to Title 34 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to create the State Board of Licensure for Massage Therapists in the office of the Secretary of State; to provide for the membership of the new board and duties of the Secretary of State and that board; to provide for the transfer of the powers, duties, rights, records, and property of the Alabama Board of Massage Therapy to the State Board of Licensure for Massage Therapists and the Chief Examiner of Public Accounts temporarily during the transition; to preserve existing regulatory law; to extend the expiration date of licenses issued by the former board until the membership of the new board is established; to repeal Chapter 43 of Title 34, Code of Alabama 1975, providing for the Alabama Board of Massage Therapy; and in connection therewith would have as its purpose or effect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of Section 111.05 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
To amend Section 40-12-242, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to license taxes and registration fees; to levy an additional license tax and registration fee on motor vehicles as defined in Section 40-12-240, Code of Alabama 1975; and to provide for the distribution of the proceeds to the Alabama Public Transportation Trust Fund.
To amend Sections 16-13B-1, Section 16-13B-4, and 16-13B-5, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to competitive bidding on contracts of city and county boards of education; to increase the minimum amount for contracts subject to competitive bid from $15,000 to $25,000; and in connection therewith would have as its purpose or effect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of Section 111.05 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
Relating to the Military Family Jobs Opportunity Act; to amend Section 31-1-6, Code of Alabama 1975, as amended by Act 2022-92, 2022 Regular Session, to extend professional license reciprocity to spouses of United States Department of Defense civil servants.
