Relating to public K-12 education; to amend Section 16-6B-2, Code of Alabama 1975; to provide for the teaching of history in a fact-based and inclusive manner.
Relating to K-12 public education; to amend Section 16-1-14, Code of Alabama 1975; to provide legislative findings; to provide a uniform system of procedural due process protections for students facing suspension or expulsion for violating the student code of conduct or state law; and to require the State Board of Education to adopt rules to implement this act.
Relating to alcoholic beverages; to amend Section 2 of Act 2022-431 of the 2022 Regular Session, now appearing as Section 28-3A-13.3, Code of Alabama 1975, to revise the amounts of alcoholic beverages that may be sold curbside.
Relating to labor and employement; to exclude consideration of a motor carrier's use of safety improvements, technologies, practices, and driver coaching in determining a motor carrier driver's classification as an independent contractor or an employee under state law.
Relating to the Department of Corrections; to add Section 14-1-25 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to provide that the Department of Corrections may expend funds to further the mission of the department.
Relating to the Department of Corrections; to create the Corrections Motor Vehicle Replacement Fund; to allow the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections to dispose of department vehicles and equipment and to provide for the proceeds of the sales; and to provide for certain notice requirements.
Relating to state income tax; to establish the Preceptor Tax Incentive Program to provide income tax credit incentives for certain medical students who train in rural and underserved counties in the state.
Relating to the Alabama Security Regulatory Board; to amend Sections 34-27C-2 and 34-27C-4, Code of Alabama 1975; to delete conflicting language regarding compensation of board members; and to provide further for criminal history background checks on applicants for licensure or certification and renewal.
Relating to Medicaid; to amend Section 40-26B-26, Code of Alabama 1975, to revise the circumstances under which the Alabama Medicaid Agency may revise the ceiling for the Medicaid reimbursement rate to nursing facilities during a given fiscal year; and to make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
Relating to the Alabama Job Creation and Military Stability Commission; to amend Sections 31-14-2 and 31-14-3, Code of Alabama 1975, to expand the membership of the commission.
Relating to Lee County; to amend Section 45-41-242.06, Code of Alabama 1975, to change the name of the Auburn-Opelika Convention and Visitors Bureau to Auburn-Opelike Tourism; and to further provide for the membership and operation of Auburn-Opelika Tourism.
Relating to Lauderdale County; to amend Section 45-39-246, providing for the distribution of Tennessee Valley Authority in lieu-of-taxes payments, to reallocate payments from the county and municipalities to the Agriculture Center Authority.
Relating to use of industrial access roads and bridges; to amend Section 23-6-9, Code of Alabama 1975, to exclude certain industrial access roads constructed by certain public corporations from the public highway and street system of the state; to provide for certain roads to be considered an industrial access road for purposes of this chapter; and to make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
Relating to the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene; to amend Sections 34-9-1, 34-9-5, 34-9-10, 34-9-11, 34-9-15, 34-9-26, 34-9-27, 34-9-43, 34-9-60, 34-9-63, and 34-9-86, Code of Alabama 1975; to further provide for penalties for violations; and qualifications for licensure and administration of controlled substances by dentists and dental hygienists.
