Relating to Marshall County; to create a service of process fee to be charged for service of process by a sheriff of documents in the District Court, Circuit Court, Family Court, and Juvenile Court of the county; to create a service of process fee to be charged for service of process in actions instituted outside the state; and to provide for distribution of the proceeds of the fee.
Relating to Houston County; to amend Section 45-35-111, Code of Alabama 1975, to provide for the compensation and appointment of election officials; and to repeal Section 45-35-111.01, Code of Alabama 1975.
Relating to Randolph County; to amend Sections 2 and 5 of Act 2021-307 of the 2021 Regular Session, relating to the coroner; to provide for the salary of the coroner effective at the beginning of the current term in order to implement Act 2021-301 as intended; and to provide that this act is retroactive and curative to January 16, 2023.
Relating to Elmore County; to levy a lodging tax and room fee and provide for the collection of the tax and the distribution of the proceeds from the tax; to provide and confirm that this act is intended to be retroactive and curative; to provide that the levying and collecting of the taxes authorized by this act be approved and confirmed as of August 1, 2020; to provide that the collection of taxes pursuant to Act 2020-178 is ratified and confirmed; to provide that to the extent any amount of taxes authorized by this act was paid by a person prior to the effective date of this act, such amount shall be deemed to be legally levied and paid and shall be deemed to be a credit against the amount of taxes levied pursuant to this act; and to repeal Sections 45-26-246 through 45-26-246.04 and 45-26-246.06, and Section 45-26-246.05, Code of Alabama 1975, as last amended by Act 2022-49, which authorized the levy of a lodging tax in Elmore County.
Relating to Montgomery County and the City of Montgomery; to establish a separate personnel merit system and a separate human resources department for the county and the city; to provide for separate personnel appeals boards for each separate personnel merit system; to provide for the transfer of existing employees to the appropriate system; to provide for the adoption of rules and procedures for each system; to provide for the transfer of property and records; and to provide for the repeal of Sections 45-51A-32.110 to 45-51A-32.127, Code of Alabama 1975, inclusive, effective January 1, 2024.
