Relating to mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance; to amend Section 32-7A-5, Code of Alabama 1975, to provide an exception to allow an individual on active military duty, whose motor vehicle is registered in Alabama but who, as a result of his or her military assignment, is required to reside in another state, to satisfy the requirement for mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance by purchasing liability coverage in the state where residing on active military duty or assignment in an amount equal to or greater than the minimum amount required in Alabama.
Relating to crimes and offenses; to prohibit an individual from picketing or protesting in certain circumstances; to allow counties and municipalities to adopt ordinances or regulations regarding time and noise regulations in certain circumstances; to provide criminal penalties for violations; and in connection therewith would have as its purpose of effect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of Section 111.05 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
Relating to public records; to add Section 41-13-7.1 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to prohibit the disclosure of personal identifying information of state legislators and law enforcement officers and employees upon request of the state legislator, officer, or employee; and in connection therewith would have as its purpose or effect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of Section 111.05 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
Relating to law enforcement agency recordings; to provide for circumstances and procedures to disclose or release recordings made by body-worn cameras or dashboard cameras used by law enforcement agencies; and to provide who may request disclosure or release and the procedure for requesting disclosure or release of recordings.
Relating to the Department of Corrections; to allow a Department of Corrections law enforcement officer to assist any law enforcement agency with public safety.
Relating to motor vehicle registration; to amend Section 32-6-650, Code of Alabama 1975; to add the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Space Force to the list of service branches for which a military distinctive license plate is available; and to repeal Section 32-6-640, Code of Alabama 1975.
Relating to law enforcement training; to require each law enforcement officer to undergo training related to individuals with certain sensory needs or invisible disabilities every other year; and to provide that the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission shall collaborate with a nonprofit company to provide the training.
Crimes and offenses; authorizes law enforcement officer to demand suspect's date of birth in certain circumstances, criminalizes providing false date of birth to law enforcement
Relating to crimes and offenses; to prohibit smoking or vaping in a motor vehicle when a child is present; to provide penalties; and in connection therewith would have as its purpose or effect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of Amendment 621 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended by Amendment 890, now appearing as Section 111.05 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended.
Relating to criminal correctional and detention facilities; to add Section 14-5-12 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to prohibit state or county inmates from participating in any program that trains dogs to recognize scents or track humans.
