FN-ZL43KRK-2 Page 1 FISCAL NOTE House Bill 204 Committee: Finance and Taxation EducationSponsor: Representative David Faulkner Analyst: Riley Aaron Date: 04/26/2024 House Bill 204 as passed the House of Representatives would decrease potential sales tax receipts to the following funds by the estimated amounts shown by exempting the Birmingham Host Committee 2025 World Police and Fire Games from the payment and collection of all state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes: Education Trust Fund$60,000 County Funds $15,000 Municipal Funds $60,000 Total $135,000 Further this bill would decreases potential ad valorem tax receipts to the State General Fund, the Public School Fund, the Veterans' Assistance Fund, county funds and municipal funds by an undetermined amount dependent upon: (1) the value of the property owned by the Committee and exempted from tax by this bill; and (2) the applicable state and local millage rates. Finally, this bill would decrease potential license tax receipts to the State General Fund and county funds by an undetermined amount dependent upon the amount of license taxes exempted by this bill that would otherwise have been paid by the Committee absent the provisions of this bill. All exemptions provided in this bill would expire on December 31, 2026.
