FN-3U97EVV-3 Page 1 FISCAL NOTE House Bill 21 Committee: Banking & Insurance Sponsor: Representative Chip Brown Analyst: Tiffany Weaver Date: 04/10/2024 House Bill 21 as passed the House of Representatives could increase the administrative obligations of the Attorney General for the enforcement of consumer privacy protection of personal data and biological samples provided by this bill; however, these obligations may be offset, in whole or in part, by any attorney fees and costs recovered due to violations of the provisions of this bill and retained by the Attorney General. This bill could also increase receipts to the State General Fund by an undetermined amount dependent on any civil penalties recovered due to violations of this bill, up to $3,000 per violation.
