House Bill 238 as introduced would increase the administrative costs of the Alabama
Department of Insurance by an estimated $112,000 annually for the Commissioner of Insurance
to regulate the Pharmacy Audit Integrity Act and implement the provisions of this bill.
This bill could also increase or decrease costs of the State Employees' Health Insurance Plan
(SEHIP) and the Public Education Employees Health Insurance Plan (PEEHIP) by an
undetermined amount dependent on any change in costs of utilizing pharmacy benefits managers
due to the provisions of this bill.
