House Bill 435 as introduced would increase the obligations of the State General Fund,
beginning in fiscal year 2025, by $148,550 for each state death benefit payment paid to a
surviving beneficiary or dependent of a coroner, deputy coroner, medicolegal death investigator
or medical examiner that die in the line of duty.
