BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. (a) Effective January 20, 2025, the Judge of Probate of Walker County shall receive an annual salary equal to the first step of the state base salary paid to a state district court judge at that time. (b) In addition, the judge of probate shall be entitled to any increases in salary, including step increases and cost-of-living increases, in the same amount and the same manner as a district judge having the same number of years of service that the judge of probate has after that date. (c) The salary provided by this section shall be in lieu of any and all other prior compensation or salary provided by law to the judge of probate. (d) The salary shall be paid in equal periodic installments from the general fund of the county.
