House Bill 70 as passed the House of Representatives could increase receipts to the Alabama
Board of Dental Examiners, beginning in Fiscal Year 2024, by (1) up to $150 for each Special
Volunteer License, created by this bill, issued to dentists and dental hygienists; and (2) a
maximum of $368,000 annually dependent on the difference in the current Dental Hygiene
Annual Registration fee (currently capped at $75 by statute and set at $70 by the board) and any
increase of the fee by the board, up to the new $150 statutory cap set by this bill.
