WHEREAS, we join the students, coaches, parents, and faculty at Glenwood School in celebrating the Lady Gators Basketball Team's Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) Class 3A State Basketball Championship; and WHEREAS, on February 9, 2024, at the Montgomery Multiplex, the Lady Gators Basketball Team downed Lee-Scott Academy in a 45-36 win; this is their third championship in the past four years; and WHEREAS, the Glenwood School Lady Gators Basketball Program has been superbly coached and inspired by Head Varsity Coach Dusty Perdue and Assistant Coaches Matt Garner and J.J. Jackson; under their leadership the players have broadened their knowledge of the game, refined their skills in execution, and maintained the tradition of superior play and true sportsmanship; and WHEREAS, the 2024 Glenwood Lady Gators ended their championship season on an 18-game winning streak with a record of 28-5; following their win, standout players Anna Grace Griggs, Halle Palmore, and Takayla Davis were named to the Class AAA All-Tournament Team; and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 HJR35 INTRODUCED Page 2 the Class AAA All-Tournament Team; and WHEREAS, the 2024 Glenwood School Lady Gators Basketball Championship roster includes seniors, Anna Grace Griggs, Olivia Slocumb, Takayla Davis, Ella Cooper, and Presley Giglio; juniors, Mimi Johnson, Clara Crisco, Bobbi Taylor Breazeale, and Claire Graham; sophomores, Emersyn White and Claire Hargrove; and freshman, Halle Palmore; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Glenwood School Lady Gators Basketball Team and Coaches are highly commended and congratulated for winning the AISA Class 3A Basketball State Championship, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to them with utmost admiration, along with sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors. 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42
