HJR___ COMMENDING JIMMY L. JONES ON BEING INDUCTED INTO THE
TEXAS LONGHORN BREEDERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA HALL OF FAME.
WHEREAS, with great esteem, we extend highest
commendations to Jimmy L. Jones on his induction into the
Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America Hall of Fame;
and
WHEREAS, the Texas Longhorn breed of cattle is an
icon of Texas and the Southwestern culture, representing
ranching, the American cowboy, and the American pioneer; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of
America (TLBAA) was founded in 1964 and is a nonprofit
organization with more than 3,800 active members, dedicated
to preserving this symbol of American heritage by protecting
the pedigree, supporting and recognizing breeders, and
educating the public on the numerous benefits the Texas
Longhorn offers cattlemen; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of
America Hall of Fame was established in 2016 and recognizes
breeders who have had the greatest impact and influence on
the Texas Longhorn breed; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy L. Jones of Horseshoe J Longhorns in
Greenville, Alabama, is the first-ever Alabama resident to
be inducted into the TLBAA Hall of Fame on January 12, 2024,

be inducted into the TLBAA Hall of Fame on January 12, 2024,
at the Fort Worth Stock Show, he was honored and recognized
for his influence and dedication to the Texas Longhorn
breed; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jones, on that same evening, was awarded
the Elmer Parker Lifetime Achievement Award for his
dedication to preserving and promoting the Texas Longhorn
breed; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Mr. Jimmy L. Jones is highly
honored and commended, and this resolution is offered to him
in deepest admiration and appreciation for his significant
contributions to the cattle industry, as well as with
sincere best wishes for success in all future endeavors.
