Senate Bill 157 as passed the Senate would increase the administrative obligations of the State
Board of Education and the local boards of education to adopt rules regarding student discipline
pursuant to the provisions of this bill. Additionally, this bill could increase the obligations of the
Educator's Liability Trust Fund and/or local boards of education by an undetermined amount
dependent on the cost to reimburse officers and employees in certain legal actions.
Further, this bill would increase the administrative obligations of the Alabama Division of Risk
Management to provide an annual report to the Legislature detailing expenditures made during
the preceding year pursuant to the provisions of this bill.
