Senate Bill 169as reported by the Committee on Finance and Taxation Education would
increase the financial obligations of the Education Trust Fund by an undetermined amount
annually to expand benefits provided by the Alabama G. I. Dependents’ Scholarships Program
to: (1) include graduate studies effective January 1, 2025; (2) extend the timeframe by which
certain eligible dependents of partially disabled veterans can receive benefits by an additional 2
years; and (3) extend the timeframe certain dependent children have to initiate the educational
benefits by an additional four-years.
