Senate Bill 297 as reported by the Committee on Finance and Taxation General fund would
exempt from income taxes any net capital gains derived from the exchange of precious metal
bullion. This could decrease receipts to the Education Trust Fund, beginning in Fiscal Year
2026, by an undetermined amount dependent upon the amount gains derived from the
exchanges.
