FN-CM3NWJW-1 Page 1 FISCAL NOTE Senate Bill 305 Committee: Finance and Taxation EducationSponsor: Senator Vivian Davis Figures Analyst: John Friedenreich Date: 04/24/2024 Senate Bill 305 as introduced would increase the financial obligations of the local boards of education by an undetermined amount to provide a substitute employee as may be required for eligible employees that take 12 workweeks of paid parental leave for: (1) the birth of a child; (2) the adoption of a child; or (3) the miscarriage or stillbirth of a child. Based on the average daily rate to provide a substitute employee for a certified or non-certified employee, the estimated cost would be a maximum of $7,500, per employee using the full 12 weeks of the leave pursuant to the provisions of this bill.
