FN-UAHFGGX-4 Page 1 FISCAL NOTE House Bill 123 Committee: County and Municipal GovernmentSponsor: Representative Kerry Underwood Analyst: Tiffany Weaver Date: 03/04/2025 House Bill 123 as reported by the Committee on County and Municipal Government would increase the obligations of the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy by an estimated $27,400 annually by: (1) increasing the membership of the board from 5 members, under current law, to 9 members; and (2) reducing the board member per diem from $720, set by rule of the board under current law, to $500. Further, this bill could increase or decrease receipts to the board by an undetermined amount dependent on the difference in: (1) the amount of monetary penalties in the form of civil and administrative penalties established in a schedule and imposed by the board, as provided by this bill; and (2) the amount of administrative penalties otherwise imposed under current law. This bill could also increase receipts to the board by an undetermined amount dependent on the rates set by the board for delinquent fines, up to $1,000, as provided by this bill. This bill would also increase the maximum amounts the board may levy for the following licenses or permits, which could further increase receipts to the board by an undetermined amount: resident pharmacy or entity licenses from $200, under current law, to $500; resident pharmacy or entity renewals from $150, under current law, to $300; and various business permits from $750, by board rule, to $2,000. This bill would also cap the pharmacy technician license fee at $60 and provide for the continuance of the board until October 1, 2026 pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.
