House Bill 166 as introduced would increase the administrative obligations of the local boards
of education to adopt policies relating to the use of electronic communication devices on public
school campuses and internet safety. Additionally, this bill will increase the administrative
obligations of the State Board of Education to adopt rules, and the State Department of
Education to develop and approve an online course to students regarding the use of social
media.
