House Bill 207 as passed by the House of Representatives would codify current practice of the
Office of Information Technology (OIT) coordinating IT procurement across agencies and
oversight of computer and telecommunications systems as provided by Act 2017-282. This bill
would also provide for OIT to oversee management of state government cybersecurity:
$2,731,583 was appropriated in Act 2024-355 (General Fund Budget) for the purpose of
cybersecurity for fiscal year 2025 and $2,926,615 was recommended by the Governor to be
appropriated for fiscal year 2026.
