House Bill 36as introduced would levy an additional 1.25% simplified sellers use tax and
provide for the proceeds of this levy to be distributed pro rata by average daily membership to
the K-12 local boards of education, which would increase receipts to the boards, cumulatively,
by an estimated $60 million annually, beginning in fiscal year 2026.
