House Bill 362 as introduced would increase the obligations of local governing bodies and local
boards of education by an undetermined amount dependent on the cost to: (1) record open and
public meetings; (2) publish the recordings onto their corresponding websites; and (3) provide
instructions on how to access the recorded meetings on each website.
This bill would have an estimated aggregate fiscal impact of greater than $50,000 annually on
affected local government entities and is subject to the provisions of Section 111.05 of the
Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
