A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to Cleburne County; to provide for the salary
of the sheriff and revenue commissioner.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. (a) Effective beginning the next term of
office of the sheriff commencing in January 2027, the Sheriff
of Cleburne County shall receive a salary of seventy-two
thousand dollars ($72,000) per year payable in installments as
currently provided. The salary provided by this section shall
supersede any salary provided to the sheriff prior to the
effective date of this act.
(b) Commencing October 2028 and thereafter, the sheriff
shall be entitled to receive any cost-of-living increases
granted to county officers and employees, notwithstanding any
law to the contrary.
Section 2. (a) Effective beginning on the same date
that the sheriff commences his or her next term in January
2027, the Revenue Commissioner of Cleburne County shall
receive a salary of seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000) per
year payable in installments as currently provided. The salary
provided by this section shall supersede any salary provided

provided by this section shall supersede any salary provided
to the revenue commissioner prior to the effective date of
this act.

revenue commissioner shall be entitled to receive any

Section 3. This act shall become effective on June 1,
2025.
