House Bill 469 as reported by the Committee on Insurance could increase, decrease, or maintain
the obligations of the Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Board and State
Employees' Insurance Board by an estimated $1.9 million annually and an undetermined
amount, respectively, due to the minimum reimbursement rate set by this bill for health insurers
to pay in-network and out-of-network ground ambulance providers.
Further, this bill would increase the obligations of the Alabama Department of Public Health by
an undetermined amount to adopt rules and obtain annual reports from emergency medical
service providers due to the provisions of this bill.
