House Bill 505 as passed the House of Representatives would increase the obligations of the
Alabama Tax Tribunal Fund by: (1) an estimated $17,000 annually by providing that the Chief
Judge receive a salary equivalent to the top of the pay range assigned to the chief administrative
law judge, instead of at the top pay scale within pay grade 88 as provided by current law; and (2)
a maximum of $12,600 annually for each employed associate judge by changing their pay grade
from within pay grade 84, as provided by current law, to not to exceed the pay range assigned to
an administrative law judge, as provided by this bill.
