This bill would prohibit any county and certain municipalities from requiring the approval of a registered architect or professional engineer on plans for the construction of a single family residence under three stories in height. A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to residential home construction; to prohibit certain municipalities and all counties from requiring construction plans for new single family residencies under three floors in height to be approved by a registered architect or licensed professional engineer. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. (b) This section shall not apply to Baldwin County. Section 2. Any provision of Section 34-2-32, Code of Alabama 1975, to the contrary notwithstanding, no county may require the approval by a registered architect or professional engineer on plans for the construction of a single family residence that is under three stories in height.
