CONGRATULATING THE AUBURN UNIVERSITY MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM
FOR MAKING THE PROGRAM'S SECOND APPEARANCE IN THE NCAA
DIVISION I MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL FOUR.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride and special pleasure
that highest commendations and congratulations are herein
conveyed to the Auburn University Men's Basketball Team for
achieving the program's second appearance in the National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men's
Basketball Championship Final Four; and 
WHEREAS, the head coach of the Auburn Tigers, Bruce
Pearl, has established Auburn into a powerhouse men's
basketball program that commands the respect of the college
basketball world; since Coach Pearl arrived at Auburn, he
has led Auburn to three Southeastern Conference (SEC)
regular season titles in 2018, 2022, and 2025, two SEC
tournament championships in 2019 and 2024, six NCAA
tournament appearances in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, as
well as 2025; and this year, Coach Pearl led the Tigers to
the program's second Final Four appearance in San Antonio,
Texas; and 
WHEREAS, the Auburn University Men's Basketball Team
was the No. 1 overall seed after a historic season; the
Tigers set a program record for wins in a single season, won
the SEC regular season title, spent eight weeks atop the

the SEC regular season title, spent eight weeks atop the
Associated Press Poll, crowned a new all-time winningest
player, and a new all-time winningest coach; and 
WHEREAS, after Auburn's historic regular season
accomplishments, their success continued into the NCAA
tournament; the Tigers started their tournament run by
beating Alabama State University by a score of 83-63; in the
Round of 32, Auburn defeated the Creighton Bluejays by a
score of 82-70; the Tigers continued winning when they beat
the University of Michigan by a score of 78-65; in the Elite
8, Auburn was victorious against the No. 2 seed Michigan
State Spartans by a score of 70-64; the Tigers made it to
the final weekend of competition, the Final Four, but fell
to the Florida Gators by a score of 73-79; now therefore, 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Auburn University Men's
Basketball Team, Coach Bruce Pearl, and the entire Auburn
Family are honored and commended, and this resolution is
offered in highest tribute, along with sincere best wishes
for continued success in all future endeavors.
