WHEREAS, it is with profound admiration and respect that we recognize Mrs. Stephanie Lofton Streeter of Mobile, Alabama, for her numerous years of dedicated public service to Mobile County and the entire State of Alabama upon the occasion of her retirement on May 1, 2025, as County Director for the Mobile County Department of Human Resources (DHR); and WHEREAS, as the Mobile County Director of DHR, Mrs. Streeter has been responsible for approximately four office locations and 275 employees who provide a wealth of services and resources for children and families in the Mobile County community; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter began her career with Mobile County DHR in 1999 as a Family Self Sufficiency Case Aide in the JOBS program, where she assisted welfare recipients in gaining the tools needed to become gainfully employed despite any obstacles; through hard work and a passion for helping families, she has served in many capacities within the agency, including as a caseworker, supervisor, Choctaw County DHR Director, Assistant Director in Jefferson County, Assistant Director in Mobile County, and eventually, Mobile 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 HR268 INTRODUCED Page 2 Assistant Director in Mobile County, and eventually, Mobile County DHR Director; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter's contributions to the community and the state extend far beyond DHR, as she has served in various roles on many boards and committees, such as Lifelines Counseling Services Board of Directors, Council Against Family Violence, The University of Alabama Social Work Society Board, Penelope House Administrative Board, the Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment (SWAPTE) Board, Bishop State Community College Foundation Board, and the Rotary Club of Mobile; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mobile, and an Associate of Science from Bishop State Community College; she is also a proud graduate of McGill-Toolen High School; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Stephanie Streeter freely admits that none of these accomplishments would be possible without the support and constant encouragement of her husband, Tyrone Streeter, and their daughter, Kelsey Streeter; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Streeter is known throughout Mobile County for her generosity of time and sacrifice of self, her tireless work ethic, and her fierce love of the families she has served for over 25 years; she is loved and respected by her staff and the community; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we highly commend Stephanie Lofton Streeter for 25 years and six months of exemplary dedication to the field of social services and the Mobile 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 HR268 INTRODUCED Page 3 dedication to the field of social services and the Mobile community on the occasion of her retirement as County Director of the Mobile County Department of Human Resources, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to her with utmost gratitude and admiration, along with best wishes for continued success during her retirement. 57 58 59 60 61
