Senate Bill 160 as introduced could increase sales and use tax receipts to certain county and
municipal governments, beginning in Fiscal Year 2026, by an undetermined amount dependent
upon the amount of local sales and use tax that would otherwise have been exempt under current
law but would expire on September 1, 2025 absent a local ordinance or resolution approving the
exemption and notification of the approval provided to the Department of Revenue pursuant to
the provisions of this bill.
