Senate Bill 166 as introduced would increase the administrative obligations of: (1) local boards
of education and the governing bodies of public institutions of higher education to determine the
display of the Ten Commandments in each school/institution, purchased with donated funds; (2)
the State Department of Education to identify a list of free resources available to local boards of
education; and (3) the State Board and Education and the Alabama Commission on Higher
Education to adopt rules pursuant to the provisions of this bill.
