Senate Bill 169 as introduced would propose a constitutional amendment, which, if ratified,
would require the Governor to appoint an individual to fill a vacancy in the office of the
Lieutenant Governor.
Additionally, this bill would increase the proclamation expenses of the Governor, paid from the
State General Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2027.
