Senate Bill 208 as introduced proposes a constitutional amendment, which if ratified, would
allow Montgomery City Council members to participate in the Employees' Retirement System
of Alabama (ERS).
This bill would increase the proclamation expenses of the Governor, paid from the State General
Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026. This bill will not
otherwise affect state funding or the ERS state employer contribution rate.
