WHEREAS, highest congratulations are herein proudly presented to the 2024-2025 Trinity Presbyterian Varsity Girls Basketball Team for winning the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 4A Girls Basketball State Championship; and WHEREAS, the Wildcats demonstrated dedication, perseverance, leadership, and hard work when they victoriously captured their first state championship at the Class 4A level, having won the 2023 and 2024 championship titles at the Class 3A level; and WHEREAS, the Wildcats went on a 34-0 run and held Good Hope scoreless until the third quarter; they dominated their opponent with a final score of 67-27; Seniors and MVPs, Francie Morris (2025) posted a double-double for 20 points and 10 rebounds; Maddie Smith (2024) tallied 12 points and dished out multiple assists; and Mya Moskowitz (2023) added 16 points, including four three-pointers; these champions were not only examples of individual excellence but were also a celebration of teamwork and strategic execution; and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 SJR51 INTRODUCED Page 2 execution; and WHEREAS, the talented members of the Trinity Presbyterian Varsity Girls Basketball Team are Lilly Smith, Francie Morris, Mya Moskowitz, Lizzie Causey, Maddie Smith, Emma Rose Meldrum, Ellie Causey, Kaitlynne Keller, Emory Causey, Rebi McLemore, Marley Sharpless, Rissie Price, Morgan French, Sally Ann Lumpkin, and Cate Chapman; Head Coach Blake Smith provided superb leadership and encouraged the team to be a light and have oneness and love for each other; this goal was achieved with the guidance of Assistant Coaches, Megan Smith and Clinton Adams, and Trainer, Michael Figueroa; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the 2024-2025 Trinity Presbyterian Varsity Girls Basketball Team is highly commended and congratulated for winning their first AHSAA Class 4A Girls Basketball State Championship and earning their third consecutive state championship title, and this resolution is offered to them as evidence of our high regard for their hard work and dedication to each other and to their sport.
