SJR___ RECOGNIZING APRIL 8, 2025, AS SCOUTING AMERICA DAY.
WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, this
body commends the Scouting America councils that serve
Alabama for their leadership and dedication to preparing
young people for adulthood and responsible citizenship:
Alabama-Florida Council, Black Warrior Council,
Chattahoochee Council, Greater Alabama Council, Mobile Area
Council, and Tukabatchee Council; and
WHEREAS, membership in Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA,
Venturing, and Career Exploring is growing across Alabama,
now representative of 15,803 Scouts; and
WHEREAS, in 2024, 352 young men and women achieved
the rank of Eagle Scout from all of the Alabama-based Scouts
BSA Troops; these youth represent Scouting's best and will
be well-equipped to serve and provide leadership to our
state and the Nation; the Eagle Scout Leadership Project and
service hours provided by Troops and individual Scouts
represent thousands of hours each year, benefiting their
hometown, local churches, hunger relief missions, and other
nonprofit organizations; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That April 8, 2025, is recognized
as Scouting America Day in Alabama and this resolution is
offered to the six councils that serve the State of Alabama

in highest esteem and with best wishes for continued growth
