SJR___ COMMENDING LUKE HUTCHESON ON BEING NAMED THE 2025
ALABAMA SPORTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION BOYS BASKETBALL CLASS 2A
COACH OF THE YEAR.
WHEREAS, with very special pleasure, Luke Hutcheson
is heartily commended for being named by the Alabama Sports
Writers Association as the 2025 Class 2A Boys Basketball
Coach of the Year, and we find it necessary and proper to
honor him for his many accomplishments and efforts for the
betterment of Alabama students both on and off the court;
and
WHEREAS, led by Coach Hutcheson, Tuscaloosa Academy
has enjoyed a historic season and finished as runners-up to
the state champions after clinching their first Final Four
since entering the AHSAA in 2022; the Knights finished the
season 23-2; and
WHEREAS, Coach Hutcheson has not only encouraged each
player to develop his talents to the fullest, but he has
also instilled in each student a valuable sense of
determination, perseverance, camaraderie, and school spirit;
his tireless dedication and exceptional ability has earned
him the genuine respect and admiration of many; and
WHEREAS, with athletic competition playing such an
important role in the total education of our young people,
we are overjoyed to pay tribute to Coach Luke Hutcheson; his

we are overjoyed to pay tribute to Coach Luke Hutcheson; his
knowledge and integrity have brought pride to the Tuscaloosa
Academy community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we heartily congratulate
Coach Luke Hutcheson, the 2025 Alabama Sports Writers
Association Class 2A Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, and
this resolution is offered in highest tribute to him, along
with heartiest congratulations and best wishes for the
future.
