BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 19

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 20 -77-137 is amended to read as follows: 21
20-77-137. Nonemergency transportation — Ridesharing application — 22
Medicaid reimbursement — Definition Definitions. 23
(a) As used in this section ,: 24
(1) "Healthcare facility" means a hospital, healthcare system, 25
clinic, clinic group, office of a healthcare professional, or long -term care 26
facility; and 27
(2) "Ridesharing “ridesharing application” means an online 28
application that connects a passenger with a driver who is licensed under the 29
Transportation Network Company Services Act, § 23 -13-701 et seq., for a fee. 30
(b)(1) The Arkansas Medicaid Program shall reimburse for nonemergency 31
transportation from a Medicaid beneficiary's home to a healthcare facility. 32
(2) Reimbursement under subdivision (b)(1) of this section is 33
limited to one hundred fifty dollars ($150) per calendar year for each 34
Medicaid beneficiary. 35
(3) The Arkansas Medicaid Program may re imburse for the fee 36 HB1009

incurred through ridesharing applications to healthcare facilities or offices 1
of healthcare professionals for a Medicaid beneficiary under subdivision 2
(b)(1) of this section . 3
(c) Reimbursement shall not be available if the Medicaid be neficiary 4
uses the ridesharing application to travel across state lines. 5
(d) The reimbursement rate under this section shall be at the federal 6
mileage reimbursement rate. 7
