BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 22 
 23 
 SECTION 1.  DO NOT CODIFY.  TEMPORARY LANGUAGE.  Nonemergency 24 
Transportation Rideshare Expansion Study Workgroup. 25 
 (a)  The Department of Human Services shall convene a workgroup to be 26 
known as the "Nonemergency Transportation Rideshare Expansion Study 27 
Workgroup". 28 
 (b)  The purpose of the workgroup is to study and report on the 29 
following, the: 30 
 (1)  Need for expanded rideshare services to healthcare 31 
facilities for Medicaid beneficiaries; 32 
 (2)  Benefits of using rideshare services verses traditional 33 
nonemergency transportation providers; 34 
 (3)  Cost, including potential cost savings, of expanded 35 
rideshare services as part of the nonemergency transportation program; and 36   As Engrossed:  H1/23/23 	HB1009

 (4)  Use of other operational and nonemergency transportation 1 
program flexibilities to expand services and improve cost effectiveness. 2 
 (c)  The department shall present a report to the Senate Committee on 3 
Public Health, Welfare and Labor and the House Committee on Public Health, 4 
Welfare and Labor no later than December 31, 2023. 5
