BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 20

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 20 -8-1101(a), concerning the creation and 22
membership of the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Advisory Council, is 23
amended to read as follows: 24
(a) There is created the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Advisory 25
Council, which shall consist of the following members: 26
(1) A member of the House of Representatives, to be appointed by 27
the Speaker of the House of Representatives, who sh all serve as a cochair of 28
the council; 29
(2) A member of the Senate, to be appointed by the President Pro 30
Tempore of the Senate, who shall serve as a cochair of the council; 31
(3) One (1) individual who is a family caregiver of an 32
individual living with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia, to be 33
appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Health; 34
(4) The Executive Director of the Arkansas Health Care 35

(5) The Executive Director of Alzheimer's Arkansas Progr ams and 1
Services or his or her designee; 2
(6) The Executive Director of Alzheimer's Disease and Related 3
Disorders Association, Inc. or his or her designee; 4
(7) The Executive Director of the Arkansas Residential Assisted 5
Living Association, Inc. or his or her designee; 6
(8) The Arkansas State Director of the Arkansas State Office of 7
AARP, Inc. or his or her designee; 8
(8)(9) The Executive Director of the Arkansas Minority Health 9
Commission or his or her designee; 10
(9)(10) The Executive Director of The Broyles Foundation or his 11
or her designee; 12
(10)(11) The President of the Arkansas Hospital Association, 13
Inc. or his or her designee; 14
(11)(12) The President of the Arkansas Medical Society, Inc. or 15
his or her designee; 16
(12)(13) One (1) individual representing the Arkansas 17
Association of Area Agencies on Aging, to be appointed by the Secretary of 18
the Department of Health; 19
(13)(14) One (1) individual who represents home care providers, 20
to be appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Heal th; 21
(14)(15) One (1) physician who has experience diagnosing and 22
caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease, to be appointed by the 23
Secretary of the Department of Health; 24
(15)(16) One (1) individual representing the Donald W. Reynolds 25
Center on Aging of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, to be 26
appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Health; 27
(16)(17) One (1) individual who conducts research regarding 28
Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, to be appointed by the Secretary of 29
the Department of Health; 30
(17)(18) One (1) individual from a statewide association 31
representing the interests of nursing professionals, to be appointed by the 32
Secretary of the Department of Health; 33
(18)(19) The Secretary of the Department of Health o r his or her 34
designee, who shall be a nonvoting member; 35

his or her designee, who shall be a nonvoting member; and 1
(20)(21) The long-term care ombudsman for the Division of Aging, 2
Adult, and Behavioral Health Services of the Department of Human Services or 3
his or her designee, who shall be a nonvoting member ; and 4
(22) The Chair of the Arkansas Home -Based Services Association, 5
Inc., or his or her designee . 6
