FARMSTEAD IN MORROW, ARKANSAS. 16

WHEREAS, Damon and Margaret Reed purchased the 1828 Morrow family 19
farmstead which is comprised of a four (4) room log cabin, smokehouse, 20
outhouse, watering trough, and Morrow Family Cemetery; and 21

WHEREAS, the Reverend George Morrow and his wife, Elizabeth Morrow, 23
originally built the family farmstead; and 24

WHEREAS, the Morrow farmstead is located at 16995 Hale Mountain Road, 26
Morrow, Arkansas; and 27

WHEREAS, during the past eighteen (18) months, Damon and Margaret have 29
worked tirelessly in restoring the 1828 log cabin; and 30

WHEREAS, while the Morrow farmstead was already listed on the Arkansas 32
State Register of Historic Places and due to the incredible amount of labor 33
by the Reeds, the Morrow farmstead has been placed on the National Register 34
of Historic Places; and 35

WHEREAS, the Morrow farmstead buildings date to the late nineteenth or 1
early twentieth century and were all built by the Morrow family, 2

NOW THEREFORE, 4
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FOURTH GENERAL 5
ASSEMBLY, 6

THAT the House of Representatives recognize Damon and Margaret Reed for 8
their work in restoring the Morrow farmstead. 9

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be 11
transmitted to Damon and Margaret Reed by the Chief Clerk of the House of 12
Representatives. 13
